SPATIO Suite
Five distinctive algorithmic reverbs for natural spaces and creative effects.

Part of the SPATIO series of algorithmic reverbs, SPATIO Gate creates dense, powerful ambience with a sharply controlled ending.
Its intentionally truncated response reinforces transients and adds dramatic size without leaving a long reverberation tail that crowds the mix. Particularly effective on drums, percussion and other transient-rich sources, it can produce anything from tight, compact ambience to bold and forceful gated effects while preserving clarity and rhythmic definition.

The defining characteristic of a gated reverb is the temporal shape of its impulse response. An impulse response describes how a system reacts to an ideally instantaneous excitation, showing how the resulting energy evolves over time.
In a natural acoustic space, reverberant energy is gradually dissipated through absorption by surfaces, objects and air. As a result, the overall envelope of a room impulse response generally decreases over time and can be approximated by an exponential decay (Fig. 1).
A gated reverb deliberately departs from this behaviour. Instead of allowing the response to decay naturally, its envelope remains relatively sustained and is then attenuated over a much shorter interval (Fig. 2). The later, lower-energy part of the response is therefore reduced or removed.
This redistribution of energy changes both the temporal envelope and the perceived structure of the reverberation. A greater proportion of the response is concentrated before the cutoff, producing a dense reverberant body followed by a clearly defined termination rather than a progressively fading tail.
SPATIO Gate allows the duration, density and final attenuation of this response to be shaped precisely, providing control over the transition from the sustained reverberant body to its ending.

This freeware verb is frighteningly good! If nothing else, it’s absolutely worth the time for the free download. This little reverb sounds simply amazing…
I particularly like the plates – they’re nice and silky with voice, and aggressive with snares – but the halls are equally satisfying…This fine-sounding reverb is versatile enough that you’re bound to find something that works for you among the 47 presets. If not, a little tweaking will get you there
Beautifully conceived, Anwida plug-ins never disappoint. Highly recommended!
SPATIO Room, to my ears, rules above all the other small room verbs…I’m now using this on pretty much everything. It adds just the right amount of presence to a sound without being obvious or overbearing. Whatever you did, it just works.
Wow, I had no idea the plug-ins were this great! I have worked with them on a 1 minute drum track for a few hours and I am amazed at the quality. I am sold, these are the plugs needed to create pro sound within host recording apps.
I really like this reverb. Especially unique among reverb plug-ins are elements like plates and gates, they sound wonderful. The DX Reverb is a model plug-in with a lot of substance rolled into an intuitive, compact UI. Great job!
1.1.0 (09/03/2021)
A natural-sounding room reverb that adds space while preserving intimacy and definition.
A spacious hall reverb with a gradual build-up, smooth density, and clear decay.
An inverse reverb for rising ambience, dramatic transitions, and creative sound design.
